Agate Private School strives to offer spontaneous diversity of choice with students stimulating an open-ended curriculum.

As an on-again off-again homeschooling parent of 4, I have received much support and guidance from Gayle and Agate Private School. Her expertise in navigating the social, emotional and learning challenges our children face in institutional learning environments is surpassed only by her ability to help children identify and focus on their personal passions and strengths. Gayle is undaunted by what society believes are normal learning conventions, choosing instead to focus on what is right for the child who stands before her seeking for an opportunity to learn who they are and how that matters to the world.

Gayle is amazing. I have been with agate private school over a decade and then used Agate private school for my children. She creates learning plans to each child’s needs. Great job Gayle.

The principal is not only very knowledgeable, she is compassionate and very good at working with families to meet their education goals. Not only have I had children attend this school , I have grandchildren who did and do also attend.

This is not a real school. It’s entire existence is a front to fool the European/students from France into thinking they’re going to Canada to learn English when in reality Gayle is not paying the families nor is she doing proper background checks for the families hosting. She under pays the families and then creates an environment where students are paying Gayle’s friends to drive them for excursions. French families are paying a premium for this program and Gayle pockets it under the explanation that she is owed a finders fee for finding “hosts” who are not licensed teachers. She has the families go online to get fake certification again to fool the people of France. Nacel needs to seriously look closer at this woman. So does the CRA because I did the math on what the families pay vs what host families receive and she is collecting a lot of money. She not a principal not even remotely close. This is literally her home address not the address of an actual educational institution. She’s a fraud. Beware the host families are not background checked and usually very low income people she is able to puppet and trick into babysitting for her.

Gayle of Agate Private School is passionate about supporting home schooling families. She offers membership benefits for families not only in Ontario but also for families around the world. Gayle also does a lot of speaking on the subject of education so you can find some of those videos under her personal YouTube channel under the name Gayle Hanlon.

Agate School has worked ideally for our family for the last few years. Gayle helped us to navigate through the transition from public school to Agate when some things arose. She was excellent. Agate offers families the opportunity to design their style of learning while also being there to give ample recommendations if that is desired. The school can be hands off or hands on, dependent on what you want. When you ask, they're there to answer questions or offer resources. I recommend Agate School often to those who are new to alternative learning methods and are wanting to give it a go.

Agate Private School is the school we needed for our son when we needed it decades ago. We're glad it existed. Gayle appreciated our son's artistic temperment, which was not the case for public school.

This is an old location, the new address is 43 Chaplin Ave, St Catharines. Phone number is the same. I've notified them that they need to update this listing and move it to the new address.
